After yesterday’s eye-opening expedition down facial moisturizing product lane, I thought it was long past time for me to review some of my other daily-use applications.
Today’s product review is for Avalon Organics “Vitamin C Vitality Facial Serum” from their “Vitamin C” product line. It’s a serum I use fresh out of the shower and under my other face moisturizer on a daily basis.
Avalon Organics Vitamin C Vitality Serum
Feels great going on, and I find it’s good for making those dark circles under my eyes less prominent – especially in combination with one of Avalon Organics’ other face creams in the Vitamin C line. Plus, unlike products in the lavender line, it doesn’t tend to make me break out – a definite plus.
So here is the catch: the Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety database gives it a 6/10, or “moderate hazard” rating.
What I’m trying to figure out is why, given that the highest warning number for any of the ingredients listed on their site is a “4″.

Baby health is so important – we all want to avoid chemicals in our food, milk and our household while being pregnant. It is very important. There are alot of chemicals in skincare today, and pregnant women should only use chemical free or Organic face creams.
Your skin is an organ – that you are sharing with your unborn child. Any chemicals applied to your skin will feed the growth of your child. And please do your research on the internet regarding chemicals in skin care products.
My personal recommendation, is the Made from Earth product line. They are at http://www.madefromearth.com . . .They are completely chemical free and organic, and their products have a shelf life of 6 months, because they are not presevred with chemicals, but they do use quality ingredients. I used their 3 Berry Face Serum while I was pregnant, and its a great face cream I highly recommend.

I used the Made from Earth “Vitamin Enhanced Face Firming Serum” for more than 3 weeks before I decided I liked it.
Initially I thought it was too light – but i liked the light scent. It reminds me off lemons. But I decided to stick with it and see what I thought after a month.
Now I love it. It’s light and has that whipped texture. It absorbs quickly and my skin is super soft. My makeup is going on smoothly and I even have rosey cheeks which I have never had. I haven’t changed anything but my moisturizer so I will attribute the positive results to this product. I like that I can use a moisturizer over it without it clinging to the moisture.
I would recommend the Face Firming Serum. Like any other I think you need to use the entire product to really see results.
